Clio Area Fire Department, Inc.
The Clio Area Firefighters Annual Homecoming Week is over for another year, and we would like to thank the community for all their support. The Firefighters Corporation is a benevolent association much like the VFW. They do not use, or spend municipal money, but raise money thru homecoming week, and other endeavors. They really give a lot back to the community.
In the past few years the corporation has donated:
$12,507 to Public Safety: A ballistic vest for police dog Chaos, and firefighting equipment.
$21,109 to Burn Victims and Health Organizations: American Red Cross, Muscular Dystrophy, food, and Christmas gifts to needy families.
$4,443 to Athletics: Boosters, Little League and AYSO
$9600 to Schools: Project Graduation, and three scholarships.
$5,178 to Parks & Recreation.
Two "Make a Wish" requests this year.
So next year when you are buying a ticket to ride the Ferris wheel, remember that your firefighters don't just volunteer their time to keep you and your family safe, they also volunteer their time to various community services. So when you see a volunteer firefighter say "THANKS"
