VIENNA TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2001, 5:30 P.M.

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

Roll Call:  Present: Supervisor McKerchie, Clerk Scott, Treasurer Luttenbacher, Trustees:  Corba, Preseau, Ridley, Zinn.

 

Absent:  None.

 

Previous Minutes:  Moved by Corba, seconded by Luttenbacher to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as presented.

Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Presented by Luttenbacher.

 

Building Inspector’s Report:  Presented by Palmer

 

Bills: Bills in the amount of $45,985.63 were presented.   Moved by Corba, seconded by Ridley to pay the bills in the amount of $45,985.63.

ROLL CALL:  Yeas – Zinn, Ridley, Preseau, Corba, Luttenbacher, Scott, McKerchie.

Nays – None.  Motion carried

 

Sheriff’s Report:  Was presented by Supervisor McKerchie.

 

Fire Authority Report:  Was presented by Supervisor McKerchie.  McKenna and Assoc. will give the Fire Study report on August 16, 2001, at 7 p.m. at the Township Hall. 

 

Supervisor’s Report:  Was presented by Supervisor McKerchie.  The construction of the parking lot for Township building should start the week of August 13th.  The code enforcement report showed that 46 cars were removed and 15 properties were brought in compliance for the month of July. 

 

Visitors to Address the Board: 

1.         Mr. Jim Carney, 2135 Morgan, complained about the treatment that he received from Dave & Teri’s towing.  He is    asking the Township Board to open the contract and let other people bid.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

1.         Public Hearing for Comcast.  Moved by Corba, seconded by Zinn to open a Public Hearing for Comcast at 6:02 p.m.  Public Hearing closed at 6:15.  All in favor.  Motion carried.

            Moved by Corba, seconded by Luttenbacher to enter into a 15-year agreement with Comcast Cablevision and have the proper authorities sign.

                                    Nays – None.

                       

2.         First Reading – Construction Ordinance.  Moved by Corba, seconded by Preseau to suspend from reading.  All in favor.  Motion carried

                       

3.         First Reading – Storm Drain/Sump Pump Ordinance.  Moved by Corba, seconded by Luttenbacher to suspend from the reading.  All in favor.  Motion carried.

           

           

4.         Final Reading – Medical Fringe Benefit Continuation Ordinance No. 327.  Moved by Corba, seconded by Preseau to adopt Ord. No. 327 and have the proper authorities sign.

            ROLL CALL:  Yeas - Preseau, Corba, Luttenbacher, Scott, McKerchie, Zinn, Ridley

                                    Nays – None 

            Motion carried.

 

5.         Annual Legislative and Educational Conference.  Moved by Corba, seconded by Preseau to allow any elected official to attend the Legislative and Educational Conference in Washington, D. C., September 5-7, 2001.

            ROLL CALL:  Yeas – Corba, Luttenbacher, Scott, McKerchie, Zinn, Ridley, Preseau

                                    Nays – None

            Motion carried.

           

6.         Funds received from Verizon.  Moved by Corba, seconded by Preseau to give $5,000.00 to the Sports Complex, and $1,000.00 to Parks and Rec.

            ROLL CALL:  Yeas – Luttenbacher, Scott, McKerchie, Zinn, Ridley, Preseau, Corba

                                    Nays – None

            Motion carried.
