PRESENT:   Vernon Curtis, Dale Frappier, Lee Garner, Ben Ranger, Robert Palmer, Beverley Williams.

 

ABSENT:   James Schweitzer, Scott Preseau.

 

ELECTION OF SECRETARY:  Due to the resignation of Arthur Sauve, it is necessary to elect a new secretary. Moved by Curtis, seconded by Frappier, to nominate Lee Garner.  Moved by Frappier, seconded by Curtis that nominations be closed.

Motion carried.

 

PREVIOUS MINUTES:    June 11, 2001.  Moved by Garner, seconded by Curtis to

                                              accept previous minutes as presented.

                                               Motion carried.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:  Chairman Curtis reported on an evening zoning seminar.                          

                                      

NEW BUSINESS: 

 

Item 1.  Sean Keenan, Nextel, requested a postponement of his hearing for a Wireless Telecommunications

              Tower until he can get a permit from the State.

                                         

Item 2.  Michael Davidson, Clio Chrysler Plymouth Dodge, Site Plan Review for Used Automobile

              Dealership.

 

             A.  Mr. Davidson has approval from the Appeal Board for a setback variance of

                  38 ½ feet on the south side.

 

             B.  Mr. Davidson stated that the dumpster will be completely enclosed by a wooden wall and the

                   unloading of most all vehicles will be done at the body shop on Mill Street. The dumpster will be

                   completely enclosed by a wooden wall.

        

             C. After discussion, it was moved by Frappier and seconded by Garner to accept the

                  site plan of Clio Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dated May 30, 2001, subject to approval

                  of the Genesee County Drain Commission and location approval of the  proposed

                  sign. 

             Roll Call Vote:  Yeas – Ranger, Frappier, Garner, Curtis.

                                        Nays – None.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

 

 

Item 4. Discussion on proposal to return the portion of Saginaw Road from Clio Road North to

             Willard Road back to M-54.  Moved by Garner, seconded by Ranger to support an effort

             to return this portion of Saginaw Road to M-54.

             Motion carried.

 

Item 5. Chairman Curtis introduced Gary Giltinin as a prospective candidate for the Planning

             Commission.

 

Item 6. Moved by Curtis, seconded by Frappier to adjourn.
