CLIO AREA LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES

NOVEMBER 12, 2003

 

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President Mike Zinn.  Those present were Mike Zinn, Sandra Vuillemot, Carmon Fox, Sue Smith, Sue Thomas, custodian Brian Vuillemot, librarian Mary Keep.  Library representative Pat Peterson was absent.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:  Michigan Municipal Magazine, service contract from Arrow Uniform, and a signature card from Gil-Roy’s Hardware.  The signature card was signed by B. Vuillemot for himself and Jeannie and Mike Zinn also signed the card.  These are the persons authorized to purchase for the library on credit at Gil-Roys.

 

MINUTES:  A motion by S. Smith, seconded by S. Thomas to approve the minutes of October 8, 2003.  All yeas.

 

LIBARIAN’S REPORT:  The patron that was smoking in the men’s room was told he could not do that the he said he would not do it anymore.  M. Keep is keeping the men’s room locked.  New Paper Back Book Rack are in place and being used.  The mats under the computer tables are working well and the back room is being reorganized.  There are no problems that need to be addressed.

 

BILLS:  A motion by C. Fox, seconded by S. Vuillemot to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $2,037.05.  All yeas.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT:  A motion by S. Vuillemot, seconded by C. Fox to approve the treasurer’s report of October 31, 2003.  All yeas.

 

CUSTODIAN’S REPORT:  B. Vuillemot reported he has gotten the light bulbs and he now needs to get salt before we have ice on the walks.  No other problems.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  None

 

OLD BUSINESS:  None

 

NEW BUSINESS:  Discussion was held referring to the service contract sent by Arrow Uniform.  The mats we use cost us $26.10 per week and we are going to check into buying our own mats and taking care of them ourselves.  This will help us to keep our budget in control for the year.  M. Zinn and S. Thomas will check on prices and report back next meeting.
