Chapin Cook gave input as to how we should begin the process of trying to receive funding for our future senior center:

A.     Send a letter to the southern communities who may not be able to use their CDBG funds, and ask that they allocate their unused funds to our future center. ( Mundy Twp, Atlas Twp, etc)

B.     Have an organized group

C.     Have our Senior Center plans formalized by Sept. of 2005.

 

Monies distributed for the 2006 cycle is May 1^st of that year, and must be used within one and one half years.

Chapin will check to see what would happen to the Clio Senior Center and Thetford Senior Center if one center were built.

Tony McKerchie and Kathy Ridley will talk more with Chapin Cook at Chapin’s office Downtown, on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 11:00 am.

 

It was suggested to have information from the Clio Senior Center and the Thetford Senior Center, to correspond with the data received from the various other Centers.

 

The Regional Planning Board (RPB) will be overseeing the Senior Center Project. Kathy Ridley and Herb Nelson will be talking with Henry Hatter as to how this process will work.

 

Ann Anderson will be designing a flyer regarding the brainstorming sessions. She will contact Myra Hopson of Thetford Twp. to post this information. Kathy Ridley will contact the newspapers when Ann has the information available. We want to keep all the information consistent.
