Clio Area Library Board Minutes

January 14, 2004

 

The meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. by President Mike Zinn. Those present included Mike Zinn, Carmon Fox, Sue Smith, Sue Thomas, custodian Brian Vuillemot, librarian Mary Harrison, Pat Peterson and Kelly Richards from GDL.

 

Sue Thomas volunteered to be secretary for this meeting.

 

Communications: Michigan Municipal League magazine.

 

Minutes: Minutes of the December meeting were not available.

 

Librarian’s Report: Linda Vance has requested that the master gardeners in the area be allowed to create a garden area near the entrance. (See New Business) Circulation is up 8.21%. The mats have arrived and are in place. The city has not been plowing. The DPW feels that they are only supposed to salt. Mike will contact Kevin Kilby about this.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Carmon, support by Sue T. to approve Treasurer’s Report. All yeas.

 

Bills: Motion by Sue T., support by Carmon to approve bills in the amount of $1222.37.

All yeas.

 

Custodian’s Report: Women’s bathroom needed a replacement kit for a toilet. Brian will be getting more salt.

 

Committee Reports: None

 

Old Business: Sue will contact Tony McKerchie about problems with lights on flag and building.

 

New Business: Motion by Sue S., support by Carmon to authorize Linda Vance to take care of planting around entrance. All yeas.

Motion by Carmon, support by Sue S. to approve new library hours of Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m-8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All yeas.

 

Adjournment: Motion by Carmon, support by Sue S. to adjourn at 5:50 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
