SENIOR CENTER COMMITTEE MEETING

Meeting with Herb Nelson, Kathy Ridley, and Henry Hatter,

Meeting Started: 9:30 a.m.

Discussed the issue of who should run the brainstorming meeting at Thetford Township on Feb. 19, 2004.  It was decided that two Thetford Township committee members should run the meeting. Henry Hatter will facilitate.

In the event that Thetford does not want to participate, consideration of canceling the brainstorming meeting on the 19^th would take place.

Henry will talk with Duke about appointees.

Under the direction of Henry Hatter, the Regional Planning Board will appoint a Chairperson and a secretary for the Senior Center Committee. Henry will inform our board as to who those appointees will be. The chairperson and secretary will keep the regional planning board informed throughout this project

A meeting with appointed committee members would be held on Monday, February 16^th at 9:00 a.m.  to discuss guidelines as to how the  brainstorming sessions will be held.

Kathy will send out letters to committee members informing them of this meeting.

Visiting other senior centers have shown us how active the school system is with their centers. It was asked to have our school take a small step and consider partnering with our senior center to duplicate the senior center newsletter. It was also suggested that a community project for our High School Seniors could be a “Senior to Senior” project with the Clio Senior Center. Henry had asked that we approach the Board of Education with information in regards to this.

Kathy will contact Ann Anderson  at the Clio Senior Center and get her input on this.

Kathy will contact Henry when the information is available, so he can have us put on the agenda for the school board.  School Board meets the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of the month at 6:30.
