CLIO AREA LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
AUGUST 9,
2006
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President Mike Zinn. Thos present were: Mike Zinn, Sue Thomas, Sandra Vuillemot, Ethel Howell, Sue Smith, Ilene Marshall, district library representative Kelly Richards, librarian Darwin McGuire. Those absent were custodian Brian Vuillemot.
COMMUNICATIONS:
MINUTES: The July minutes will be presented at the
September meeting.
LIBRARIAN’S
REPORT: The library door count is still
up and the circulation is up over 44% at the same time as last year. The new circulation desk was installed on
July 16. Patrons like the new desk and
are requesting an outside drop box and more handicapped parking spaces. Storytime with Miss
Susan has been well attended in the month of July. Stupid Pet Tricks for People, and Animal
House attracted 15 adults, 33 children and 2 teens on July 21st. The Summer Reading Club has at least 290
children which is and increase of over 70% over the
summer of 2005. In addition 16 teens are
participating on-line in the Creature Feature reading program. Clio native and author Nick Arvin will speak
and sign his book on Friday, August 18th at 7:00 p.m. A reception with refreshments will
follow. The Genesee District Library
board of directors will hold its regular meeting at Clio Library on August 21st
at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited. The new desk needs to have a few changes made
and they are scheduled.
BILLS: A motion by S. Vuillemot to approve payment
of the bills in the amount of $1,960.48, seconded by E. Howell. All yeas.
TREASURER’S
REPORT: A motion by E. Howell to approve
the Treasurer’s Report of July 31, 2006, seconded by S. Smith. All yeas.
CUSTODIAN’S
REPORT: The air conditioner was not
cooling so

ADJOURNMENT: A motion by E. Howell to adjourn the meeting
at 6:15 p.m., seconded by S. Vuillemot. All yeas.
