LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:  Circulation year to date is up 68.52%, and door count is holding over 700 per day.  Our library is rated #3 in the County.  On Feb. 23rd wireless connection to the public access computer network was made available.  Patrons can now bring their own laptops and use them anywhere in the library, but they cannot access the library printer.  Displayed a topical book display for February with titles of “Black History Month”, XXth Olympic Winter Games”, etc.  Programs are being well attended and the Clio Book Club is still meeting.

BILLS:  The Consumers bill is still waiting to be paid as Consumers is looking up to see if it is due.  A motion by S. Vuillemot to approve payment of the bills of March 8, 2006 in the amount of $4,431.06, seconded by  S. Thomas.  All yeas.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  A motion by S. Thomas to approve the Treasurer’s Report of February 28, 2006, seconded by E. Howell.  All yeas.

CUSTODIAN’S REPORT:  Brian reported to S. Thomas that he repaired the drinking fountain, and replaced a light switch near the desk area.  A ballast is out of one of the lights in the desk area and he is looking through the old lights to see if there is one he can use to make the repair.  The carpet is separating at a seam at the circulation desk.  M. Zinn will see if he can get someone to come and look at the carpet for repair.  Brian needs to order supplies again, mostly because of the increased use of the library.  He will increase the order and this should eliminate the freight costs.  A plastic pad is needed at the desk area to help on the wear of the carpet.  Brian has permission to purchase one.  The Flag needs to be replaced.  M. Zinn will check to see if he can get one.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:  None

OLD BUSINESS:  Consumers told us to ignore the bill until more research can be done.  Sather’s Electric checked out the heat in the lobby and suggested a radiant heater at the cost of $750.00.  We will put this on hold until late summer.  We received three estimates for the pole and light in the parking lot.  Sather’s Electric, $3,950.00, Power Source, $4,732.00 and Wienstines $4,745.00.  There have been questions concerning the liability of the library when someone is hurt.  Stacy Hardy explained to us that if the building were at fault for the injury then our policy would cover the claim.  M. Zinn will speak to Brian about the mowing.

NEW BUSINESS:  A motion by E. Howell to keep the locking of the front door policy the same as in the past, seconded by S. Smith,  All yeas.  A motion by E.
