| Chairperson Curtis opened the meeting at 6:00pm.and led the Pledge of Allegiance. | |||||
| Present: | Vernon Curtis, Gery Giltinan, John Krieger, Ben Ranger, Mike Zinn, Bob Palmer, and | ||||
| Mary Johnson. | |||||
| Absent: | Max Schweitzer, and Doug Chilson. | ||||
| Minutes: | Motion by Zinn, seconded by Ranger to approve the minutes of 9-25-06 as | ||||
| presented. All ayes, motion carries. | |||||

| Comm: | Appreciation Dinner, December 1st at Forest Township | ||||
| Petitions: | 1. Public Hearing, Terry Potter Rezoning at 13252 N. Saginaw Rd. | ||||
| Mr. Potter was present and said he has remodeled the house for his office and is using | |||||
| it for his excavating business. | |||||
| Bob Palmer said Mr. Potter has already done this work without permission and that | |||||
| bothers him a lot. He thinks the area should be fenced at the very least in addition | |||||
| to being rezoned to I-1, Limited Industrial Use. | |||||
| Audience comments: | |||||
| Mr. Walter Thompson, 13280 N. Saginaw Rd was present and said he is next door | |||||
| to Mr. Potter and has lived there for 31 years. Mr. Potter has built up the back area and | |||||
| now Mr. Thompson's land floods every time it rains, and he never had that problem | |||||
| before. | |||||
| Bob Palmer said Mr. Potter could run a trench along the side of the property and that | |||||
| will aleviate the problem. Mr. Potter said he will run the trench and do whatever he can | |||||
| do to make the Thompson's happy. He said he also plans to plant pine trees on the | |||||
| front and north sides to block his equipment from sight, as well as fence the property. | |||||
| Vernon Curtis said the Master Plan calls for Single Family Residential in that area, and | |||||
| Bob Palmer said on each side of this property is zoned Commercial. | |||||
| Ben Ranger said the I-1 zoning uses allow a lot of different uses. | |||||
| Gery Giltinan asked if he would store any hazardous materials and was told no. | |||||
| Motion by Zinn, seconded by Ranger to recommend to the Township Board that this | |||||
| property be rezoned from RU-1 to I-1. | |||||
| Roll call vote. All ayes, motion carries. | |||||
| 2. Set Public Hearing for Randy Hopper 12073 N. Saginaw Rd, and Donald Jennings | |||||
| 12057 N. Saginaw Rd to rezone from C-2 to RU-1, both for the purpose of obtaining | |||||
| mortages. | |||||
| Motion by Giltinan, seconded by Ranger, to set the Public Hearing for 11-13-06. All | |||||
| ayes, motion carries. | |||||
| 3. Field Road Properties Final Site Plan. | |||||
| No one was present from Field Road Properties. | |||||
| Motion by Zinn, seconded by Ranger to table this item until November 13, 2006. All | |||||
| ayes, motion carries. | |||||
