| Chairperson Curtis opened the meeting at 6:00pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance. | ||
| Present: | Vernon Curtis, Gery Giltinan, Doug Chilson, Max Schweitzer, Ben Ranger, Bob | |
| Palmer, and Mary Johnson. | ||
| Absent: | John Krieger, Mike Zinn. | |
| Minutes: | Motion by Ranger, seconded by Giltinan to approve the minutes of October 23, 2006 | |
| as presented. All ayes, motion carries. | ||

| Comm: | 1. Appreciation Dinner, December 1st at Forest Township. | |
| 2. Letter concerning the rezoning requests on Saginaw Rd. | ||

| Petitions: | 1. Public Hearings for Donald Jennings, 12057 N. Saginaw Rd. 18-14-577-004, and | |
| Randy Hopper, 12073 N. Saginaw Rd. 18-14-577-006. | ||
| Donald Jennings was present. Randy Hopper was not. Mr. Jennings said he had a | ||
| purchase agreement on his house but the prospective buyers can not get financing. | ||
| Jason McConnell, Realtor, spoke on the purchase agreement. The prospective buyers | ||
| were present and said the house suits them perfectly. | ||
| Audience Comments: | ||
| 1. Chairperson Curtis read a letter from Carl Aldrich, Aldrich Enterprises, who said he | ||
| is opposed to a change in the zoning, it was zoned commercial for a reason. | ||
| 2. Stan Piechnik said if they lose the commercial classification it would be very hard to | ||
| get back. He also said there hasn't been any residential development there in years. | ||
| 3. Richard France said the area has always been used as commercial, and the owners | ||
| used it as commercial and now, just because they can't sell want it residential. | ||
| 4. Jason McConnell said the Board has rezone properties in this same area. | ||
| Chairperson Curtis said the Master Plan calls for C-2 in this area. | ||
| Board Comments: | ||
| 1. Ben Ranger said this request is just to be able to sell the property. | ||
| 2. Gery Giltinan said this is always a tough issue, don't want to do spot zoning. | ||
| Bob Palmer said the Board should take into consideration the setback of 80' between | ||
| Residential and Commercial properties. | ||
| Motion by Ranger, seconded by Giltinan to recommend to the Township Board the | ||
| rezoning of these properties from C-2 to RU-1. | ||
| Voting yes: Schweitzer | ||
| Voting no: Ranger, Giltinan, Chilson, Curtis. Motion fails. | ||
| 2. Final Site Plan, Field Rd. Properties. Vito Pampalona was present and spoke on the | ||
| issue. He said they lost a few lots to the DEQ for the wetlands. Other than that the plan | ||
| remains the same. This petition was tabled from the last meeting. | ||
| Bob Palmer said there are no problems with this project and recommends approval. | ||
| Motion by Ranger, seconded by Schweitzer to remove this petition from the table. | ||
| All ayes, motion carries. | ||
| Motion by Ranger, seconded by Chilson to approve the final site plan for Field Rd | ||
| Properties. Roll call vote. All ayes, motion carries. | ||

| New Business: | 1. Doug Chilson asked about a pond on Jennings between Wilson and Dodge on the | |
| east side of the road. He said they did not come to Planning for a permit. Bob Palmer | ||
| said he had looked at the pond and concluded it was an existing pond before building. | ||
| The meeting was adjourned at 7:02pm. | ||
