Building Report: Palmer gave the report for May, 2008.  He stated that building is still slow.
Library Report: Zinn reported that the Library will be replacing the upstairs windows in the front by the elevator shaft.
He also stated that they will be purchasing a new furnace.  The Library board is amending their
by-laws.  They are also recommending changes to the Library Agreement since the Senior Center
is no longer in the building.
Fire Authority Report: Luttenbacher reported that the Fire Authority received a grant from Wal-mart in the amount of
$1,000.00.  The grant money will be used for Extrication Equipment".  The Authority also has five new
hires.
Senior Report: Ridley reported that the Senior Center Board decided not to change their bi-laws, requiring a
representative from each municipality to sit on the board.
Additions/Changes: Palmer commented that Kmart and Wendy's are going to the Michigan Tax Tribunal to fight their
assessments.  Since the businesses are in the Business Development Authority District, the BDA
will pay for half of the townships cost to dispute their claim.
New Business: Building permits.  Palmer stated that the building department has been comparing building permits
that were pulled to pictures of homes in the Township.  The department is finding that some construc-
tion did not have permits pulled.  The Board would like the building department to compile a list and
submit it to the Township Board.  At that time the board will determine what will be done.
Board Comment: McKerchie stated that the Business Development Authority viewed a video promoting the Birch Run
area.  He stated that it was a great idea and would like to use the same ideas for Vienna Township.
He would like the Township Board to look at the video and discuss the matter further.
