CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF VIENNA
	PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
	DECEMBER 22, 2008
	Chairperson Curtis opened the meeting at 6:00pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present:	Vernon Curtis, Gery Giltinan,  Doug Chilson, Pat Bowdish, Ben Ranger, Mike Zinn,
	Bob Palmer, and Mary Johnson.
Absent:	Max Schweitzer.
Minutes:	Motion by Zinn, seconded by Chilson to approve the minutes of 12-8-08 as
	presented.  All ayes, motion carries.
Additions/	None.
Changes:
Comm/Visitors:	None.
Repts of Comm:	None.
Petitions:	1.Todd Massey, 12478 N. Saginaw, and Vicki Loll, 12452 N. Saginaw are requesting
	to rezone their properties from C-1 to RU-1. Lloyd Massey was present and spoke for
	both parties.
	Bob Palmer said there is no Commercial in the area, and there is residential across the
	street. He recommends approval because the zoning will match the usage.
	B. Ranger questioned the RU-1 zoning instead of RM.
	M. Zinn said there is no Commercial bordering either of the properties.
	B. Ranger said the rezoning does not match the Master Plan. He questioned whether
	the Master Plan should be redone.
	Motion by Zinn, seconded by Giltinan to recommend to the Township Board that the
	property at 12478 N. Saginaw be rezoned from C-1 to RU-1.
	Voting yes: Chilson, Giltinan, Zinn, Bowdish, Curtis.
	Voting no:   Ranger.                              Motion carries.
	Motion by Zinn, seconded by Giltinan to recommend to the Township Board that the
	property at 12452 N. Saginaw be rezoned from C-1 to RU-1.
	Voting yes: Giltinan, Bowdish, Chilson, Zinn, Curtis.
	Voting no:   Ranger.                              Motion carries.

	The meeting was adjourned at 6:30pm.
