CLIO AREA FIRE AUTHORITY
	MEETING
	AUGUST 9, 2005
	The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Fuller, who led the Pledge
	of Allegiance.
Members Present:	Dennis Fuller, Tom Needham, Paul Luttenbacher, Dave Phillips, Verlin Morningstar,
	John Rivett, and Shelly Ayotte.
Members Absent:	Roger Hicks.
Also Present:	Chief Bronson and Batt. Chief Paulson.
Visitors/Comm:	Thank you letter from Clayton Township Police Department.
Minutes:	Motion by Luttenbacher, seconded by Morningstar to approve the minutes of July
	12, 2005 as presented. All ayes, motion carries.
Bills:	Motion by Luttenbacher, seconded by Phillips to approve the bills in the amount of
	$ 13,696.90. Roll call vote. All ayes, motion carries.
Treasurer's Rept:	The Treasurer's report was given by Paul Luttenbacher.
	Motion by Phillips, seconded by Rivett to approve the report as presented. All ayes,
	motion carries.
Chief's Report:	1. Report on two station alarms.
	2. Hire four new firefighters, one pending physical.
	3. Purchase request.
	4. Chief's conference in Bay City Sept. 28-30.
Old Business:	1. Bid for masonry work at station 2 from Oskey Brothers Construction.
	Dave Phillips said he had received another bid. The bids will be discussed at the next
	meeting.
New Business:	1. Purchase request: Motion by Needham, seconded by Morningstar to approve the
	purchase request in the amount of $ 1,637.95 from account # 978. Roll call vote.
	All ayes, motion carries.
	2. Leadership Conference. Motion by Needham, seconded by Phillips to approve the
	four Chief's attending the conference for a total of $ 95 @. Roll call vote. All ayes,
	motion carries.
	3. Hire Kendrick Zalewski. Motion by Luttenbacher, seconded by Phillips to hire
	pending physical results. All ayes, motion carries.
	4. Hire Gabriel Keys. Motion by Phillips, seconded by Luttenbacher to hire, accepting
	Chief's recommendation. All ayes, motion carries.
	5. Hire Brian Etson. Motion by Luttenbacher, seconded by Phillips to hire, accepting
	Chief's recommendation. All ayes, motion carries.
	6. Hire Anthony Ziobro. Motion by Rivett, seconded by Luttenbacher to hire, accepting
	Chief's recommendation. All ayes, motion carries.
Other Business:	Luttenbacher asked if a letter of rejection had been sent about the maintenance
	contract for the new radios and was told yes.
Board Comments:	Dennis Fuller told the Board Vienna Township will open the new fire hall bids on 8-11-05.
	Verlin Morningstar asked Chief for an explanation on the 2 station calls vs 1 station.
	Tom Needhan said the recognition fund was a good incentive for the firefighters.
	The next regular meeting will be September 13, 2005 at Station #1.
	The meeting adjourned at 5:30pm.
