CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF VIENNA
	PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
	JANUARY 12, 2009
	Chairperson Curtis opened the meeting at 6:00pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present:	Vernon Curtis, Gery Giltinan, Ben Ranger,  Mike Zinn, Max Schweitzer, Doug
	Chilson, Pat Bowdish, Bob Palmer, and Mary Johnson.
Absent:	None.
Election of	Motion by Schweitzer, seconded by Chilson to retain the three Officers, Vernon
Officers:	Curtis, Chair, Ben Ranger, Vice-Chair, and Gery Giltinan as Secretary.
	Roll call vote. All ayes, motion carries.
Minutes:	Motion by Zinn, seconded by Giltinan to approve the minutes of 12-22-2008 as
	presented. All ayes, motion carries.

New Business:	1. Discussion on Saginaw Rd zoning issues.
	The Commission discussed whether or not zoning changes should be made to the
	Saginaw Rd area. The Commission has heard several rezoning requests mainly
	because residential homes are mostly zoned Commercial. Mortgage and Insurance
	companies will not finance, refinance or insure these homes because if they were
	to catch fire and burn more than 50% they could not be rebuilt. It was decided not
	to make any changes at this time and consider every rezoning request individually.
	The meeting was adjourned at 6:40pm.
