CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF VIENNA
	PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
	JULY 27, 2009
	Chairperson Curtis opened the meeting at 6:00pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present:	Vernon Curtis, Gery Giltinan,  Doug Chilson, Max Schweitzer, Pat Bowdish, Bob
	Palmer and Mary Johnson.
Absent:	Mike Zinn, and Ben Ranger.
Minutes:	Motion by Chilson, seconded by Giltinan to approve the minutes of June 22, 2009
	as presented. All ayes, motion carries.
Additions/Chgs.	None.
Communications:	None.
Rept. of Committee:	None.
Petitions:	None.
Unfinished Bus.	None.
New Business:	1. Blighted and/or abandoned structures.
	Discussion on what the Planning Commission, partnering with the BDA, could do to
	encourage the rental or sale of empty buildings in the BDA district.
	We will approach the BDA about funding a link to Vienna Township's web site that
	will focus on the positive growth in our area. It will list empty buildings, and potential
	building sites. A overhead map will show new growth in relationship to what is available.
	A letter will be written to all owners of vacant buildings and building sites to see if they
	are interested in being included in the project.
	A copy of the letter and the cost of making the link/video will be brought back to the
	next meeting for approval.
	The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
