CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF VIENNA
	PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
	AUGUST 27, 2007
	Chairperson Curtis opened the meeting at 6:00pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present:	Vernon Curtis, Pat Bowdish, Gery Giltinan, Doug Chilson, Ben Ranger, Mike Zinn, Bob
	Palmer and Mary Johnson.
Absent:	Max Schweitzer.
Minutes:	Motion by Giltinan, seconded by Chilson to approve the minutes of July 9, 2007
	All ayes, motion carries.
Additions/Chgs:	Bob Palmer said the Vienna Town Square project on Vienna Rd that was approved
	last meeting is now divided into three building instead of the approved two. He said he
	was okay with the change if the Board was. All members were in agreement.
Communications	None.
Repts of Comm:	None.
Petitions:	1. Elf Khurareh Temple Assc. 4240 W. Wilson Rd. Special Land Use.
	Phil Brock, Trustee for Elf Khurareh Temple, was present and said they want to have
	a corn maze on their property for a few months as a fund raiser. He said they hired a
	company from Idaho to cut the maze. They have plenty of parking, and will have a
	concession stand.
	Audience comments: None.
	Board comments:
	1. Bob Palmer said if approved tonight they won't have to come back in the future.
	2. Ben Ranger asked if they plan to do this every year and was told yes.
	3. Mike Zinn asked where the closest maze is to them and was told in Corunna.
	4. Gery Giltinan asked if they will have music and was told maybe a radio.
	5. Doug Chilson asked about the cost. $8 adults, and $6 kids.
	Motion by Ranger,  seconded by Zinn to approve the Special Land Use request for a
	corn maze at 4240 W. Wilson Rd.
	Roll call vote. All ayes, motion carries.

	The meeting was adjourned at 6:20pm.
